Weekend Getaways

Weekend Stays

Weekend stays are designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for participants who require short-term accommodation and care over the weekends. Weekend stays consist of pick up from home on Friday after lunch and drop off on Sunday afternoon after lunch.

The camps provide opportunities for all participants to establish and maintain peer relationships, engage in effective communication skills, build independence, and access the community while enjoying some of their own personal chosen pastimes with like-minded peers.

Establish Friendships

One of the key benefits of weekend stays at Auskiwi is the opportunity for participants to establish and nurture friendships. Through shared experiences and activities, participants can connect with like-minded peers and develop meaningful relationships. This can contribute to increased social engagement, enhanced self-esteem, and a sense of belongingness within a community. Participants will have the chance to connect with others who understand their unique experiences and challenges, allowing them to feel supported and less isolated in their journey.

Independence

Weekend stays at Auskiwi aim to foster independence in participants. They will have the chance to practice essential life skills such as meal planning, cooking, and personal hygiene. They will be encouraged to make choices and decisions, giving them a sense of ownership and responsibility over their own lives. Additionally, our staff will support participants in accessing the community and engaging in social activities.
